The Lion King The story, which was influenced by the Bible stories of Joseph and Moses and the William Shakespeare play Hamlet, takes place in a kingdom of anthropomorphic animals in Africa. One of my favorite scene is after his Fathers death Simba is walking around, he yells up in the sky to Mufasa "You said you would always be there for me!(almost like Christ yelling to his father God "my God my God why have you forsaken me)
The Monkey Rafiki comes up and tells Simba that he knows he is Mufasa's son (the King) Is there enough Jesus in you where people can see the King in you. He takes Simba to a pond and tells him to look into the water. Simba does, but only sees his reflection. Rafiki tells him to look harder and touches the water, making it ripple. This time, Simba sees Mufasa's reflection in the water and Rafiki states that Mufasa lives in him. At that moment, Simba hears Mufasa calls his name and looks up to see his spirit in the sky. Mufasa tells him that because Simba has forgotten who he is, he has forgotten him. He tells Simba to look inside himself and that he is more than what he is now. Mufasa reminds him that he is his son and the one true king. As Mufasa disappears, he tells Simba to remember.
Do you know that you are a child of the King and that no matter how you feel the king leaves in you. Do not forget who(S) you are because in doing so you will forget God. You maybe the only Jesus someone sees.
Remember who you are
